Get Involved With the Richmond
Theatre Artists Fund!
The Richmond Theatre Artists Fund helps those in the Richmond theatre community who fall on the hardest of times, whether due to illness, injury or extenuating circumstances, apply for financial aid. Artists dealing with life-threatening disease or life-altering circumstances may apply, or others may apply on their behalf, for assistance.
With the help of the Richmond community, The Richmond Theatre Artists Fund has raised money in the past to:
* Provide new housing for an actor with AIDS who lost his job and was thrown out onto the street when his condition was disclosed,
* Make mortgage payments for a lifelong theatre administrator who was about to lose her home as her husband (a theatre tech director) struggled for more than a year with brain cancer,
* Help a director who had emergency quadruple bypass heart surgery meet his medical expenses and mortgage payments, and
* Pay for critical medications for a cherished actress fighting against terminal cancer.
If you would like to support by providing emergency financial assistance, you can go to the Community Foundation website and donate online by writing "RAPT" as the fund name, or you can fill out the RAPT Theatre Artists Fund Application and send it to the appropriate address.
Please help those who have demonstrated a commitment to live theatre in the Greater Richmond area by supporting today!
